Alcohol, as we all know, was once illegal. The reason that it was illegal was because the ill effects of alcohol, such as acts of violence toward the great unwashed and create people to do things that they normally wouldnt do, led numerous people to fight for the bar cause. More often than not, the forecast effects result from heavy drinking, like depression is often diagnosed in alcoholics (6). But just get holdting drunk can do serious harm. So why is it still legal, why do we let people go to bars and get Drunk, knowing that in that location is a possible chance that they could do harm to themselves or others. The reason is because the government learned from prohibition of alcohol that it will cost them and the people of America money to stop the use of alcohol, this would cause uproar of American people and the government does not want to deal with it.

Marijuana though seems to have a unique difference to the other drugs that are illegal in the USA.
